Historic 1918 Home w/ Pickleball Court & Fire Pit
About
Former home of noted sculptor Jack Nortz, this 1918 two-story sleeps 12 with brass & crystal accents, high ceilings and oak floors. Out back: a lit pickleball/basketball court (the first private court in Oklahoma), a putting green, deck, and brick patio with fire pit and grill. 5 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, a game room and a fully fenced yard, with cafes and bars a short walk away and the Plaza, Paseo and Bricktown about 10 minutes out. Ideal for family gatherings and work groups.
Good to know
Built in 1918, the house keeps its original character: brass and crystal fixtures, high ceilings and oak floors throughout. Sleeping (12 guests): 1 king, 2 queens, a queen sofa sleeper, and a daybed with trundle in the upstairs game room. A toddler bed and pack-n-play are also available. Inside: living room with smart TV, dining room, fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher and a Keurig (teas, cider and hot chocolate stocked, plus refillable pods for coffee), upstairs sitting room, and a game room with a 65" smart TV. Smart TVs in three bedrooms, a piano, board games, books, a dedicated workspace and a stackable washer/dryer. Outside: large front porch, back deck, brick patio with fire pit and grill, a lighted pickleball/basketball court (added in 1997, the first private court in Oklahoma) and a putting green, all inside a fully fenced yard.
Other Details to Note
- Court lights: the on/off switch is just inside the French doors to the deck, on the right. The basement light switch must also be on for the court lights to work. - The gas radiant heaters in the living room, downstairs bedroom and downstairs bathroom may only be used when no small children are present. - The grill and fire pit have lighting directions on the units. - This is a quiet historic neighborhood: no parties or overly loud activities, and quiet hours are observed. - No pets and no smoking anywhere on the property. - A Ring doorbell camera covers the front entry, and a noise-level monitor (no audio recording) is used inside. There are no indoor cameras. - Trash goes out Wednesday evening for early-morning pickup.
